For this project, we had to pick an object and break it down. We had to focus on every aspect of the object, and how they work together. For our project, we chose to dissect a Zippo lighter. Although the majority of people have both seen and know how to use one, we thought it was important to really dissect each aspect and truly understand their functions.
This was certainly a rocky project to be apart of, there were many things that we felt went well, but there were also many aspects of it that left something to be desired. One thing we managed to do well was divide the work up evenly, no one was taking any more than the other. However, we did not manage our time or our priorities well, and this led to a bit of tension within the group, there were many moments where we were at odds with each other, which is never what you want, but this helped us to realize the bigger priority at hand, allowing us to solve our differences. After this, it was smooth sailing and we all fulfilled our individual duties and were able to come up with an idea for a redesign that we all thought was cool. Overall, the project was not without it's ups and downs, but it allowed me to better myself when it comes to working with other people, and learning about everyday objects, looking at them as closely as possible.
